Sooner Scholar
Mrs. Cynthia DeeAnn Donohue Smith enters The University of Oklahoma as a Sooner Scholar. Mrs. Smith’s work experience includes 10 years teaching as a Special Education teacher in both the secondary and elementary level. She holds teacher certifications from both Missouri and Oklahoma, and has worked with students with learning disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, mental retardation, emotional and behavioral disturbances, and physical disabilities. In 1996, Mrs. Smith earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK and, while doing so, was a member of Kappa Delta Pi. Mrs. Smith’s research interests include examining increased self-determination skill’s impact on improved postschool outcomes, including further education, employment, and community living.
