Graduate Research Assistant
Chauncey, a research assistant at the Zarrow Center and graduate assistant at OU’s Office of Disability Services, is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Special Education at The University of Oklahoma. He holds a Bachelors degree in English from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Masters in Human Relations from OU. Chauncey spent four years working as a mental health therapist with Oklahoma City Public School's alternative education program and the Oklahoma Juvenile Authority where he specialized in counseling students with emotional/behavioral disorders. Currently, he is a student advisor and recruiter for the Sooner Scholars. This program prepares individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to attain special education faculty positions. Chauncey also coordinates the LEAD project designed to develop strategies for increasing the academic performance, retention rates, and school success of OU students with Learning Disabilities and/or Attention deficits.
