Family Time

Monday, September 15th, 2008

This weekend I spent time with my family.  Saturday the girls in the family went shopping with me to find the perfect wedding dress.  We went to three stores and I tried on a lot of dresses.  Everyone had their own opinion about the dresses.  I had to decide which dress I loved since I was the one that was going to be wearing it.  After a long day I finally decided on a dress that was perfect for me.

Sunday my father, mother, fiancé, and I took my nephew to the Zoo.  It was so much fun.  My nephew loved all the animals and had a great time.  When we finished at the Zoo we went back to the house and I made dinner for everyone.  I have been working on cooking so that when I get married we will not have to order take out every night.  Everyone said they enjoyed the dinner but they might have been just trying to be nice.  I had a great weekend with the family.

Next weekend I will be at the College of Education Picnic.  Stop by on Saturday for free food and prizes! Hope to see everyone there!

Beginning of the Semester

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

I had my last first day of school this week. As I was walking through the crowded book store to find my books, I became a little sad. I am going to miss going to classes the first day and meeting new people. I will miss all of the people that I have met in my classes. One thing that I will not miss is the parking! Parking was the hardest part of my week. I drove around for a while before finding a parking place. Over the years I have learned to give myself at least thirty minutes to find a parking place and make it to class in time. After receiving all of my syllabi I realized that I am going to have a very busy semester. I checked out my daily planner and already started blocking off times throughout the day to read, study, or write papers. I have learned that if you take a few hours out a day to work on school work it makes the semester so much easier. I have never been good at waiting until the last minute to study or write papers. When I did that I got bad grades. Overall my first week back went well and I am getting back into the groove of school again.
