    The purpose of the master's program in secondary education is to provide advanced professional education and specialized  academic work designed to enhance the professional competence level of teachers in secondary schools.

Secondary Education
    Coursework in secondary education such as curriculum, issues and problems, teaching methodology, theory and research, directed readings, and practicum experiences, as approved by the advisor and committee.

Education and Related Areas
    Coursework in education and related areas that support the student's professional goals, such as issues and problems in specific content areas, learning theory, educational psychology, multicultural and global education, and research, as approved by the advisor and committee.

Content Areas
    In consultation with the secondary education advisor and committee, the student may select course work from the various concentrations inside or outside the College of Education.

Electives (12 hrs maximum)
Dissertation (9 minimum-18 maximum hrs)
