ELPS Faculty Receive 2008 University and College of Education Awards:

Congratulations to Dr. Courtney Vaughn as a Presidential Professorship Awards Recipient.
Congratulations 2008 College of Education Awards Recipients:
- Dr. Jerome Weber received the Leadership/Citizenship Award
- Dr. Susan Laird received the Teaching/Advising Award
- Dr. Kathrine Gutierrez received the Junior Faculty Award.

2008 ELPS Department Awards Recipients:

Congratulations to the ELPS Department faculty members: Dr. Gregg Garn, Dr. Irene Karpiak, Dr. Jerome Weber, Dr. Susan Laird, Dr. William Frick, Dr. Jeffrey Maiden, Dr. Robert Fox; staff member: Roberta Hovis; graduate students: Perri Applegate (EACS program), Josh Hammers (EDAH program), Robin Stroud (ED S program). All of these individuals received specific department awards.

ELPS Faculty Member Receives Honorable Mention in PDK:

Congratulations to Dr. William Frick. Dr. Frick has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2008 PDK International Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award program for his important research on how principals juggle competing ethical interests while always keeping in mind the best interests of the student.

Recent Publications:

Congratulations to Dr. Susan Laird on the recent publication of Mary Wollstonecraft: Philosophical Mother of Coeducation. It is volume 15 of the Continuum Library of Educational Thought edited by Richard P. Bailey. (London: Continuum-UK, 2008).
