Counseling and Assessment Personnel

The clinic is staffed by counselors who are graduate students working toward doctoral degrees in counseling psychology or master's degrees in community counseling or school counseling. Counselors are directly supervised by faculty, who are licensed doctoral level mental health professionals. The clinic director is a licensed psychologist. Because this is a training clinic, all counseling sessions are recorded on videotape so that a supervisor may assist the counselor in providing the best possible service. This is a standard practice in training clinics. Tapes are never removed from the clinic, are not kept as a part of counseling records, and are erased following supervision.

The counselors in the program have a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Counselors represent a diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and religions. Although it is not always possible, we will do our best to match clients with counselors based on the client's personal preferences for gender and background.
