  • Worked with Career Services to integrate the campus award application process into the online resume building program available through their services
  • Supervise the Coordinator of Volunteerism (as of June 2007) and two graduate assistants
  • Serve as the Division of Student Affairs liaison to the OU Parents’ Association (since August 2003).  Implemented numerous efforts to improve communication and outreach to parent members via monthly e-newsletters, Web site improvements, on-line membership registration, creation of a First-Year Parent Calendar, establishment of a mini-grant program for academic and student affairs areas, and an increased number of scholarships
  • Editor and graphic designer of the Parent Newsletter, a publication printed each semester and mailed to all undergraduate parents
  • Serve as the Division of Student Affairs liaison to University College.  Edit and publish the Parent Guide, a joint project between the two areas and distributed through Summer Enrollment Parent Sessions.  Coordinate the Student Affairs presentation and presenters for the summer parent sessions
  • Coordinate presidential academic outreach programs (since June 2007) that include the Adopt-a-Prof program and Greek Community Faculty Forums.  During fall 2007, launched the Adopt-a-Prof program with an innovative on-line registration process as well as a “adopt-a-prof kit” delivery outreach effort that reinvigorated the program and created early momentum for all parties.  Created and coordinated a new initiative, “Greek Community Faculty Forums: An Evening with the Great Orators,” to replace the Faculty Lecture Series for the Greek community.  Several faculty lectures and receptions are held simultaneously in various locations throughout the Greek community and sorority and fraternity members select the venue of their choice to attend.
  • Coordinate the Student Affairs Graduate Assistant tuition waiver process and serve as the point person for placement.  During 2006, worked with the Graduate College Dean regarding an automatic tuition waiver program to improve graduate student recruitment opportunities and streamline the tuition waiver request process.

Assistant Dean of Students

  • Served as primary advisor to the President’s Leadership Class (PLC), a 100-member freshmen leadership scholarship group in existence since 1962. Implemented weekly experiential training programs in leadership skills, organizational development and personal development for PLC and other student organizations as requested.  
  • Coordinated the OU Cousins Program, a presidential program, which matches International students with American students to create campus community, friendship and opportunities to share cultures.  The OU Cousins program has a membership of over 1,100 students
  • Coordinated the Camp Crimson program which immerses incoming freshmen into campus life and the university experience.  Provided leadership for 70 student staff members and 500 incoming freshmen during Camp Crimson 2000.  
  • Responsible for compilation of the Strategic Plan and Annual Report documents which reflect the department, division, and institutional  mission statements
  • Presented formal programs and information sessions for diverse audiences which included prospective students and families, current students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators and other public groups
  • Compiled, authored and submitted the university application for Templeton Award for Character Building Colleges — awarded both years.

Assistant Director of Student Development

  • As Panhellenic Advisor provided support and services for the 15 women’s fraternities consisting of approximately 1300 women.  Coordinated and facilitated on-going programming in the areas of leadership, scholarship, community building, crisis management, substance abuse awareness, risk management, community service, and membership development.  Managed Panhellenic Association membership recruitment activities and represented the university at Greek community events.  Provided administrative supervision of the Greek Affairs office manager and student staff members.  Oversaw Panhellenic Association annual budget of approximately $70,000 and fiscal operations associated with  various zero-based budget annual events and projects.  Served as liaison and maintained communication with the national women's Greek-letter organizations, chapter advisors and alumni groups.  Administered University policies and procedures as they applied to Greek groups. Oversaw production of Greek publications and promotional materials.  
  • Co-advised the President’s Leadership Class and developed components of the OU Leadership Enrichment and Development (OU LEAD) program which included a brown bag lunch series, a twelve module leadership institute, leadership resource materials, consulting services and a speaker resource guide
  • Supervised the development, promotion, fiscal management and delivery of campus-wide student programs sponsored by the Campus Activities Council.  Served as primary advisor to ”Get a Grip on Leadership” Conference, Sooner Scandals musical production and Community Service
  • Responsible for department publication efforts.  Served as editor of the OU Student Handbook, Parent Newsletter, Parent Handbook and Campus Bulletin Board, a weekly insert in The Oklahoma Daily campus newspaper which provided information regarding campus-wide current events.  Designed promotional pieces for various departmental activities and student programs.

  • Advised sorority and all-Greek governance systems and coordinated the Panhellenic recruitment activities.
