Welcome Alumni and Friends
The College of Education has a marvelous group of alumni who have made a positive impact in virtually every walk of life in the years since their graduation. Some of you have spent a career in the classrooms of our state and around the world, while some of you have had administrative careers, and yet others have found your calling in various counseling professions. For some of you, your professional life has taken you outside the field of education. However, the common thread for all of our alumni is the profound conscious effort to think critically, display compassion and understand the value of improving the lives of all people. Such commitment comprises the cornerstone of what we teach in the college.
Regardless of the line of work you chose, your studies in the College of Education have, I am sure, served you well as you assumed various levels of leadership in your community, your state and across the world.
Now more than ever we need our alumni to continue to support the mission of the College. As state and federal funding for higher education continues to become harder to secure, the contributions of our alumni make an even bigger impact on the lives of our students.
By joining the College of Education Alumni and Friends Association, every penny of your membership dues will support scholarships for education students. As a member of the Alumni and Friends Association, you will receive the College's alumni magazine, Bridges, and we will keep you informed of special events and opportunities for you to stay acquainted with the College. With President David L. Boren recently authorizing a capital campaign to build a new wing on Collings Hall, and our programs at OU-Tulsa continuing to grow and impact a new segment of students in our state, many wonderful things are happening at the College. It is, simply, an exciting time to be excited about our College.
